Well, week 9 is in the books for your fantasy football teams and if you’re like most leagues, it was a low scoring affair for you. Not much output out of too many players this past week but there were definitely a few big games. If you were lucky enough to have Philip Rivers or Vincent Jackson, chances are you’re smiling. For Aaron Rodgers’ fantasy owners, you…well you got what you pretty much what you expect. What’s becoming more important for you heading down the stretch into your playoff run is can you count on the people you’ve drafted high. If you’re a little worried, Fantasy Football Life is here with a few under the radar guys you may want to keep your eyes on.
Laurent Robinson, Dallas Cowboys: What’s Laurent Robinson done lately? Simply be consistent where Dallas has been lacking at WR. While Dez Bryant and Miles Austin disappeared vs. the Eagles in Week 8, Robinson simply put up 103 yards and the only receiving TD, then followed it with another TD vs. Seattle. With Austin now out 2-4 weeks with an injury, look for Robinson to continue his good play as he’s slowly becoming s good target for Tony Romo. If he’s still out there on your waiver wire, grab him and don’t be afraid to put him in your fantasy lineups heading forward as Dallas has games against Buffalo, Washington, Miami and Arizona.
James Jones, Green Bay Packers: James Jones tends to be the forgotten man in Green Bay in Aaron Rodgers’ aerial assault against the rest of the league. Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings have been great for your fantasy teams producing week after week, but quietly flying under the radar is Jones, who’s taken a lot more of the snaps from Donald Driver and has made the most of his opportunities. Jones has scored a touchdown in 4 of his last 5 games and produced solid numbers for a number 3 WR. As long as Aaron Rodgers continues his red hot pace, Jones is a decent option to be one of his beneficieries.
Roy Helu, Washington Redskins: FINALLY!!!! Good ol’ Mike Shanahan has finally decided to name a starter in the Washington Redskins fiasco others would call a backfield. First it was Tim Hightower who got off to the hot start in the preseason and continued early into the season. Then Ryan Torain takes over and pretty much dropped the ball. After taking over for Hightower in Week 4 and exploding for 135 yards and a touchdown against the St. Louis Rams, he pretty much turned into Casper with the lights on and disappeared. In steps Helu and against a very formidable 49ers defense, he gets 10 carries for 41 yards and 14 (yes 14!!) catches for 105 yards as John Beck’s go-to guy. Look for Shanahan to be more trusting of his rookie RB as he needs production from anywhere to try and salvage the Redskins’ season.
There are your fantasy football stock risers that you may still be able to get onto your teams and into your lineups. Also on the market are Brandon Jacobs, Mike Tolbert, Reggie Bush, Jay Cutler, Jon Baldwin and more. Keep your eyes open as you may be able to find help for your fantasy football teams anywhere, including always the waiver wire.
